Our Story
About Us – The North Western Steel Story
North Western Steel was founded on the idea that strength, speed, and trust should come from right here in Northern Nevada. For too long, the region’s mines, farms, and contractors had to rely on outside vendors—often waiting days for support when downtime was costing thousands of dollars an hour. We decided it was time to change that.
Our roots run deep in the industry. Before North Western Steel existed, our founder spent more than two decades in the field—managing projects, supervising crews, and welding in some of the toughest environments Nevada has to offer. His experience spans large plate fabrication, tank manufacturing, pressure piping, ornamental ironwork, structural steel erection, and the gritty reality of repairing cracked frames and worn components on mining equipment.
Working as both a welder and a project manager, he learned how to bridge the gap between design and field work. He’s stood in front of procurement teams and inspectors, and he’s also stood knee-deep in the dirt with a stinger in hand, racing to get equipment back online before the next shift. That balance—knowing both the paperwork and the torch—is what gave rise to North Western Steel’s creed: Quality, Speed, and Value, all from one place.
